Watertown Farmers Market Kicks Off Wednesday Amid Construction

The Watertown Farm & Craft Market will open its 48th season on Wednesday despite nearby construction. Vendors will be relocated due to a major reconstruction project at the Dulles State Office Building.

Watertown Residents Caught Off Guard by Black Bear Sightings

Watertown residents were surprised by an unusual visitor this past week. A fluffy black bear was spotted roaming around Flower Avenue West over the last few days.

First seen on Thursday night, the bear was captured on home security cameras in the 300 block of Flower Avenue West. It made a second appearance on Friday night, seen running down a driveway and crossing the street. The bear was also spotted on Massey Street, trotting along the shoulder of the road.

Authorities are advising residents to be cautious and to secure their trash and any outdoor food sources that might attract wildlife.

Sackets Harbor Man Sentenced for Defrauding U.S. Government

Sean O’Sullivan, 61, of Sackets Harbor, was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to pay $345,271 in restitution for conspiracy to commit wire fraud and an offense against the U.S. government.
