The Hammond High School girls' basketball team, led by Ava Howie and Landree Kenyon, defeated LaFargeville 63-45 to advance to the state final four, aiming for their second consecutive state title. Ranked first in the state, they will face Cherry Valley-Springfield in the semifinals. The team credits their success to experience, hard work, and the strong support from their community. As they prepare for the upcoming games, they hope to achieve back-to-back state Class D championships, a feat last accomplished by Hammond in 2007 and 2008.
